County Contest is open to all 4-H members including Cloverbuds. County Contest helps members grow in their ability to think, to reason, & to make logical & scientific judgments. County Contest is held each year in May at the San Ysidro Village office. Contests offered at County Contest include: Horticulture, Entomology, Wildlife, Home Ec Skill-a-thon, Horse Bowl in a questionnaire format, Livestock Judging, Livestock Skill-a-thon, Consumer Decision Making, Fashion Revue, Talent, Archery, .22 Pellet, Presentations in the areas of Home Economics, Agriculture or General, Prepared Speeches, Poetry Reciting, Impromptu Speaking and Reciting the 4-H Pledge and/or 4-H Creed. For specific rules on each contest please see the District Handbook found under District Contest on this page. At County Contest we do not give oral reasons. Contest registration begins at 8:00 a.m. the day of contest and awards take place at approximately 3:00 p.m. Come join in the 4-H fun and learn something new!

District Contest
District Contest is for novice & junior 4-H age members and to attend members must qualify at County Contest. District Contest is held in June of each year and rotates location between the eight counties in our district.
State Conference
State Conference is for senior 4-H age members and to attend members must qualify at County Contest. State Conference is held in July each year at the New Mexico State University campus in Las Cruces.
