4-H Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers are essential to the success of the 4-H program. They serve in a variety of roles, including club leaders, project leaders, activity coordinators, event planners, and more—providing vital support that helps youth thrive.

Volunteer Enrollment Process

  1. Complete enrollment profile on Zsuite, including the medical and liability release waiver and enrollment form -  Yearly requirement
  2. Complete Background Check paperwork and pay $10 (make checks payable to Sandoval County
    Council) - Background checks are good for 5 years
  3. Take “Working with Minors” training on Zsuite under Clover Academy - Yearly
    requirement

NM Working With Minors course is an annual requirement of all approved adult 4-H Volunteers. Course must be taken prior to approval of enrollment or re-enrollment as a 4-H Volunteer.

4-H Volunteer Roles

Club/Organizational Leaders:
Assumes the primary responsibility for a 4-H club.

Assistant Organizational Leaders:
Is responsible for identified activities and assumes the organizational leader’s duties and responsibilities in their absence.

Project Leaders:
Leads a specific project or curriculum within a club or county wide.

Activity Leaders:
Gives leadership to an event or activity within a club, may also provide leadership
for a county wide event or activity.

Special Interest Volunteer:
Provide leadership in a special area of interest or a short-term project or volunteers
for a specific job.

School Enrichment Volunteer:
Teach or assist with teaching 4-H curriculum in the classroom during school hours.
